Revenge of Spring

In this tall colourful painting the canal serpentines its way under the bridges from Parliament Hill and the Chateau Laurier, past the Museum of Nature, and through the Glebe neighbourhood of Ottawa. Many historic buildings and bridges can be seen along the way. Life goes on unaware in the city even as gigantic, and curious floral tourists lurch through the landscape like alien invaders. Every year the tulip festival plays an important role in the city’s calendar in remembrance of the Dutch Royal Family’s asylum. no 184
